Therapy for children and young people
Warm, evidence-based, trauma-informed support — in Drummoyne, Sydney’s Inner West
Children and young people don’t always have the words for what they’re going through — it often shows up in behaviour, mood, sleep, friendships, or school.
Our psychologists provide warm, evidence-based therapy that meets a child where they are, helps them make sense of their experiences, and builds practical skills for managing big feelings. We work closely with parents and carers throughout.

How we work with children
We tailor our approach to the child’s age, developmental stage, and what they’re working through. For younger children, that often means play-based and creative approaches; for older children and adolescents, it may look more like talking, skill-building, and problem-solving. Across all of it, we move at the child’s pace and prioritise safety and trust before anything else.
Approaches we draw on:
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
-
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT)
-
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
-
Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) — the model developed by Dr Ross Greene, which focuses on identifying the unsolved problems behind challenging behaviour and building skills, rather than punishment
-
Play-based and creative therapies
-
Attachment-based and family-informed approaches

Bilingual therapy: our psychologist Hongwei Jia provides child therapy in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
Parents and carers are part of the work
Therapy with a child works best when the people around them are involved. We keep parents and carers informed, help you understand what’s driving your child’s behaviour, and build practical strategies you can use at home. With your consent, we can also collaborate with schools, paediatricians, and other professionals supporting your child.
