Rates and rebates

This page explains how fees, Medicare rebates, NDIS, and private health insurance work at our practice. If you have any questions about cost, please contact us on 0478 261 970 — we're happy to talk it through before you book.

Fees

  • Psychological therapy services are exempt from GST. Payment is made on the day of consultation by direct debit or credit card.

  • Psychological assessment services attract GST. Assessment fees are payable before the initial clinical interview.

  • We accept NDIS participants who are plan-managed or self-managed. We are not a registered NDIS provider.

  • We do not bulk bill.

  • For details of our current fees, please contact our clinic on 0478 261 970

Cancellation policy

We have a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know at least 48 hours before your appointment to avoid a cancellation fee (the full session fee). This allows us to offer the time to another client. If something comes up, please contact us as soon as you can so we can make other arrangements.

Referrals

A referral from your GP, paediatrician, or psychiatrist is required to access Medicare rebates for psychological therapy. If you're not using a rebate or insurance, you can self-refer to our therapy services. If you're using private health insurance for treatment, you don't need a referral. For assessments, a written referral from your GP, paediatrician, psychiatrist, NGO, NDIS provider, or legal representative is recommended, though you're able to self-refer.

Medicare

Medicare rebates are available for psychology services provided under a referral and a Mental Health Treatment Plan. A Mental Health Treatment Plan is completed by your GP and provides access to Medicare rebates for up to 10 sessions per calendar year, in person or via telehealth. Your GP will usually review your progress after the first six sessions before providing a re-referral for any further sessions. When referred by a psychiatrist or paediatrician, only a referral letter is required.

Medicare rebate amounts are set by the Australian Government and change periodically. For current rebate amounts, see the Medicare Benefits Schedule (mbsonline.gov.au). Rebates can usually be claimed on the day of your session.

Private health
insurance

Private health insurers may provide rebates for psychology services, depending on your level of cover. Please confirm directly with your insurer what you're covered for.
